In NEW, the three choreographers, performers and spectators Ayara Hernández Holz, Felix Marchand and Irina Müller pick up on traces and fragments, appropriate past visual experiences and give physical expression to these memories to give them back to the audience.
We go to the theatre and watch a performance. We are moved by what we see. We remember what we saw the next day, the next month or the next year. We personify what is left behind, and change the view of what we have seen. We invent traces until their source is no longer clear, make up something new, arrange it and layer it until something different emerges. The process of remembering becomes a form of thinking, structuring and physical expression. The spectator becomes the curator of his own memories and his body becomes the backdrop for his memories.
What is left of the original performance? How does the act of memory and the process of forgetting change the original? How do ‘new’ bodies change it too? What context do they provide? In the process of transferring the past to the present, gaps appear that are filled with personal stories. Very subjectively, the three performers question the development of a performance after it’s been shown, in an appeal to their own and collective memories of events that are subject to the transience of time and resist constant recall.

En este proyecto hemos trabajado con el concepto de multitud tanto en el proceso creativo como en la composición de la obra. La multitud, según Toni Negri y Michael Hardt, es “la forma ininterrumpida de relación abierta que las singularidades ponen en movimiento”. El cuerpo aquí es un cuerpo permeable y poroso que afecta y es afectado continuamente por el entorno en donde esta sumergido.
Una multitud singular es un grupo de individuos que no es una muchedumbre, ni una masa, sino un grupo que tiene múltiples voces pero objetivos en común. Interactuando, negociando sus propias reglas y tomando decisiones colectivas desde la percepción y la inteligencia singular de los cuerpos, emerge un "nosotros" que incorpora un cuestionamiento ético y poético sobre la manera en la que nos relacionamos con el mundo y con nuestros pares.

Komischer Eingang is a duet by Ayara Hernández Holz and Felix Marchand. In this performance they work on a dance that emerge from the encounter of their bodies with the body of the audience and the specific space where the performance takes place.
Their collaboration expands everyday movements and situations, exploring how each one gathers strength and affects the here and now. The dance highlights the moments where the intangible becomes matter, which in turn opens the door to absurdity. What if the room starts to shake or jumo or spin around?
komischer Eingang deals with the poetics of the space. Ayara and Felix are twisting, touching and testing the materiality of the place in order to fall into the unknown. So that a room of and for imagination can be open.
Komischer Eingang creates small events that are constantly shifting from sensorial to pictorial images. They invite the audience not just to encounter different spheres, but also allows different readings of what one see.
Their bodies shake, turn, fall, enter in different states of instability where their movements and the space can not longer be fixed by means .Instability is seen as a possibility, as a space that opens up a potential to unfold unpredictable events.
“Their research on movements is well known for their special performance qualities, technically full of self-ironic comments. At the border of the instability they explore the fantastic, the absurd and the humour.”

Una obra irónica, con un humor absurdo y auto reflexivo.
Una extraña entrada es un dúo creado, interpretado y dirigido por la coreógrafa uruguaya Ayara Hernández Holz y el coreógrafo alemán Felix Marchand. Fue estrenada en Diciembre de 2009 en la ciudad de Berlín y ahora se presenta en Montevideo.
Una extraña entrada trata temas recurrentes en la danza como ser el espacio-lugar y lo intangible, poniendo especial énfasis en la relación poética emergente entre el lugar físico, el espacio construido, el público y los performers.
La obra juega en la interacción constante y directa entre el lugar (teatro) y sus espectadores.
El lenguaje que emerge es una danza de movimientos pedestres relacionados con el espacio escénico, en el que cada uno de ellos se vuelve un evento en sí mismo que explora su resonancia en el “aquí y ahora” y su devenir constante en otra cosa.

tracing explores how the memories of an event can be seen as an evidence of the becoming of the performance after its public presentation .
tracing is an installation constructed within a length and a dramaturgy of a performance. One of the main issues rise up here is the role of the audience as co- creator, co-author and “translator” of the performance. The audience here is the protagonist of the work. It's a performance about the audience and for the audience. The remembered performances only exist in its potential, in our memory and imagination.
tracing was premiered in June 2009 in L’animal a L’esquena in the context of my master program MACAPD/ MA in contemporay arts practice and dissemintation.

tracing es una obra que se situa en el cruce entre la práctica archivista, la instalación y la performance. tracing es un archivo (colección de videos) que está contenido en una instalación que a su vez está contenida en una performance.
tracing está construida con la duración y la dramaturgia de una obra escénica
tracing aborda la transmisión oral y corporal de las obras escénicas. Trata del proceso de rememorar espectáculos vistos por el público. Explora como los recuerdos pueden ser en sí mismos una “evidencia” de su devenir.
Uno de los temas principales que plantea este trabajo es el rol del público como co-creador y “traductor” de la experiencia escénica. El espectador es el protagonista de tracing. Es una performance del público para el público.
tracing fue estrenada en el año 2009 en el Centro de Investigación “L'animal a l' esquena” en Cataluña en el contexto de la presentación final de mi maestría y posteriormente SODA gathering en “Tanzraum” en la ciudad de Berlín.
